GODDESSES -DECLARATION OF RECLAMATION – SOLO EXHBITION OF PAINTINGS BY BARBARA O’MEARA

GODDESS – DECLARATION OF RECLAMATION http://www.barbaraomearaartist.com
The Goddess is not separate from the world – She IS the world and all things in it: moon, sun, earth, star, stone, seed, flowing river, wind, waves, leaf and branch, bud and blossom, fang and claw, woman and man” -Starhawk
This exhibition of paintings by Barbara O’Meara is inspired by the artist’s personal connection to women from across the world who work in areas of healing, therapeutic and vocational modalities and who embrace the wisdom and teachings of the divine feminine and Goddess Energy as an integral part of their professional and personal lives.
“And now we find the Goddess re-emerging from the forests and mountains, bringing us hope for the future, returning us to our most ancient human roots” Marija Gimbutas
The artist connects with divine feminine energy as part of her own healing journey and it is essential to her creative inspiration; as a pilgrim soul, as a student of Celtic Shamanism, as a client of healing therapies, as a participant in sacred ceremonies and as a woman sitting in circle with a deep connection to the women she has portrayed in this series of paintings. She has acknowledged and written about her profound experiences and insights with sound healing, journeying, walking on ancient lands, participating with the healing power and intuition of horses, sky clad swimming, rituals at sacred sites, healing therapies with nutrition, herbs and oils, movement and dance and so much more. In this series of portraits/expressive portrayals of women that she has connected with, she considers all the participants to be truly inspiring and empowering women, who also acknowledge the healing power and balance of Goddess Energies.
